“ZionPlanet10” Drops some (“10th Planet Funk”) on Brian Culbertson’s new 2008 CD, “Bringing Back The Funk”, scheduled to be released April 29th. The lead track, number #1, “Funkin like my fatherâ€, which ZionPlanet10 co-wrote, Features Zion “ZP-10” Roberts, (“The 14 year old Phenom”) on vocals along with Bootsy Collins.
The CD’s Executive Producer is none other than “Maurice White” of (Earth Wind & Fire), and the star studded cast of musicians and singers on this project is a lottery wish list of industry icons including:
William “Bootsy” Collins, plus members of the Rubber Band and the Horny Horns (all out of Parliament-Funkadelic), Larry Graham (Sly & The Family Stone and Graham Central Station), “ZionPlanet10” (The 14 year old Phenom), Larry Dunn and Sheldon Reynolds (Earth Wind & Fire), Greg Adams (Tower of Power), Tony Maiden and Bobby Watson (Rufus), Michael Bland, Cora Dunham and Rhonda Smith (from Prince’s bands), Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley (James Brown’s JB’s band), solo stars Ray Parker Jr., David T. Walker, Ronnie Laws, Gerald Albright, Tom Scott, Paul Jackson Jr., Perri, Musiq Soulchild and Ledisi.
“Being a pianist myself said “ZionPlanet10”, “I really like Mr. Culbertsons style of music”, and of his previous CD’s, “Somethin’ Bout Love” was my favorite until this new release, this one’s got it all and I’m honored to be a part of such a fantastic record!
“ZP-10” sings, plays keyboards, writes and produces music as well. He has blazed the stage with many major acts, such as Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Chris Brown and Soulja Boy, to name a few.
